Stairlift Buyers Guide

Assured Stairlifts can help you decide on the perfect stairlift to suit your requirements. Whether you require a new or reconditioned stairlift, our experienced team offer advice and assistance to help you find the perfect product.

Types of Staircases

  • Straight Stairs:Straight stairs have no intermediate landing and no curves or bends. A straight stairlift installation is less expensive than a curved staircase.
  • Curved Stairs:Curved rail staircases cost more than straight saircases as the rail will need to be designed and installed to suit your individual property.
  • Intermediate Landing:For an intermediate landing on your staircase, you may require the installation of two straight stairlifts which you move between once you reach the intermediate landing. This offers a cheaper alternative than a curved stairlift.
  • Flat Bend:A flat bend stairlift can be installed as a curved stairlift or two straight stairlifts which will need to be changed as you reach the intermediate landing.
  • Fan Bends or Turning Steps at the Top:Fan bends require a curved rail. It is no longer legal to install a platform alternative.
  •

    Stairlift Power Supply

Most stairlifts are powered by a DC battery pack which is recharged by connecting to the mains. The advantage of using a DC powered stairlift is that it will continue working through a power cut.
